Wedding: Bob & Laura

We finally arrived at the day we've been waiting for: THE WEDDING of Bob and Laura! Weddings are always an anticipated event, but this wedding we just couldn't wait. And we made it!

The ceremony was at the beautiful Sacred Heart Parish in Los Angeles CA (built in 1887!). This could not have been a more fitting service for this Union.

Laura looked radiant and my groom, Bob was styling. It was a beautiful day in Southern California - perfect for a wedding.

Then we moved over to Burbank, CA to the exquisite Olivia Restaurant.

30 Days of Beautiful: T A R R A

Certainly, 30 Days of Beautiful is a Wondrous Campaign. I am meeting some wonderful people and some extraordinary Women. There's still room for you: CLICK HERE. Today I would like for you to meet Beautiful Tarra...

What does beauty mean to you? I can either believe I am beautiful, or I can believe I'm not. It's all about accepting my flaws, my imperfections, my short comings and accept that I'm doing the best I can. And be grateful everyday for the chance to wake up fresh, learn from my mistakes and be the best I can be. It's not easy and sometimes I have to remind myself of this. But in the end it's not about what's on the outside that makes you beautiful, it's all about what's on the inside.

When do you feel most beautiful? When I'm with my son and he is being a goofball. I see he is just like me and it makes me smile so BIG! It is then that I feel most beautiful.

What does being a woman mean to you? Being kind, compassionate, having style and grace.

Tell me your story: I'm a 37 year old single mother of two crazy boys. I've been raising both boys on my own and have held the same career for almost 16 years. I've been through more struggles, more heartache and more empty bank accounts than I care to remember. But by the Grace of GOD I have awakened: I've been a mommy, I've been a manager and am a Woman daily.

What do you think was the biggest turning point in your life? Accepting that my happiness comes from no one but myself.

Please finish the statement – I am a person who: Believes in herself.

Tell me about a goal you are working on: I'm at a turning point in my life. I've made a decision to change careers after 16 years. It's exciting and it scares me.

What do you love about yourself? My sense of humor.

Brandon & Ashley - July 25, 2015

When you meet the sweetest girl who’s going to marry the nicest guy, you know you’re in for a Fantastic Wedding. That’s the case for Brandon and Ashley. Knowing each other since school days, they tied the knot at the Lovely Edward-Dean Museum and Gardens (in Cherry Valley, CA).

The Visual Artist Studios had the honor to photograph this Wedding and document the beginning of Life Long memories. Special thanks to all of our partners who helped make Brandon & Ashley’s day remarkable.

Bridal Skin Care

First, I'd like to welcome our new Team member, Angelica: The Visual Artist Studios Make Up Artist and Stylist.  In this installment Angelica (who is a Licensed Nurse, Interior Designer, Entrepreneur, Make Up Artist [MUA] and Stylist) put together some key points for our wonderful Brides pre-wedding skin care (that's also useful as a daily habit as well).

To our Brides, not only will you receive the Best in Fine Art Wedding Portraiture, but you'll benefit from having a MUA/Stylist available on your day to ensure you look radiant and fabulous!

Below are a few daily skin care tips for our Beautiful Brides. We want our Brides to glow from the inside out.

Drink a glass of warm water with lemon upon waking each morning. Try to stay away from coffee and sugar. Hot or iced green tea sweetened with stevia throughout the day is a great alternative to coffee or sugary drinks. Incorporate as many raw or steamed vegetables as possible to each meal. Add veggies to everything! (veggie omelets, chopped salads, or you can just juice them).

Here is a list of skincare products that I use and recommend. Some are a little pricey but worth it:

  • Cetaphil cleanser (Target) AM/PM

The following can be found at www.dermstore.com

  • Elta MD physical sunscreen
  • Skin Ceuticals C E Feruic Acid - AM before sunscreen
  • Neocutis Bio Serum Intensive - PM after cleansing
  • Nia 24 Intensive Recovery Complex - PM after serum

Avoid any harsh scrubs or chemicals in the days leading to wedding. Retin- A is amazing but I wouldn't recommend it until after the wedding because it will cause some peeling and redness. Get as much sleep as you can and be good to yourself. Delegate as much as you can and enjoy the beautiful moments leading up to your special day.

XOXO,

Angelica

You Never Know... but be ready!

This is certainly a blog post that could have a double meaning: Be Ready! (in life and soul) and be ready at the Wedding (because a millisecond can make a photograph). Today let's talk about Art (Life & Soul are on going - just be ready anyway).

This was a beautiful, intimate wedding in the "backyard". Yes, they pulled it off! They did this wedding "their" way, and it worked wonderfully. One of the interesting aspect of post-forty weddings is the kid-dynamic. Somebody is bringing a kid into the marriage: in this case, the Groom.

The good news is the new step-mom and the kid are a dynamic-duo. The boy was crazy about his new mom (probably more then the Groom was with his new wife).

Being ready for "The Kiss" is standard protocol for the Wedding Photographer; you just bet not miss it! In this case we were [all of us] rewarded with this Spectacular response from the boy.

Be Anywhere

The Visual Artist Studios wants to capture your moments! That's what I do. That means we can be Anywhere: and if there's Love and Light - BOOM! We can make Epic! happen.

In an alley, on a street corner, in your living room; at an exotic location (which doesn't hurt) or at the place where you first met (hopefully it was a cemetary - at night), we can create and capture Your moment.
